Living Simply? Blooming Wildly?

So, I started this blog so I had someplace to share my birth story of Jasper other than facebook, but I think maybe I'll try it out for a while.  I had to think up a title for my blog and I wanted it to be something that capture a bit of who I am.  And "crunchy hippie earth mama" was already taken, I checked  *wink*.

Simplicity.  There are quite a few definitions to this word.  It could mean common or ordinary, ignorant and unlearned, lacking mental acuteness or sense, and easy to understand... amongst other definitions (dictionary.com has 26 definitons because you really needed to know that).  None of those definitions get at what I am trying to strive for in my life.

To live simply, to me, is to get rid of the clutter.  To strip away the 'junk' that is thrown at us and to live simply.  To love and to laugh.  To not be so occupied with money and stuff, physical appearance, impressing others, etc and to simply enjoy and use the gifts that have been given to us.  When we live simply we have more time to really live.  More time to love.  I think we can really bloom when we strip away all the junk and strive for simplicity.  I really think that when we strip away the clutter that clouds us, that is when we are able to find our true self and purpose in this life and to bloom wildly.

Wildly.  Not only do I strive to live simply, but I also strive to bloom wildly.
Dictionary.com (my best friend!) has this to say:
Bloom-- to produce or yield blossoms
Wild-- unrestrained, untamed
Need I explain any further really?  I want to grow and produce great flowers in my life and I want what I am blessed with to be turned around and bless others, and to spread like a wildfire- untamed, WILD.

I read one time that we are to "bloom where we are planted"... and that is something I strive to do, wildly, at all times.  Even in the "in between" times in my life.  It's so easy for me to focus on the future, but what I really need to do is focus on the present and blooming wildly where I have been placed.

OKAY.... total steam of consciousness post.... now you see how I roll....

Until next time
